Rings Made To Your Own Design
Kennedy Blair offers to the discerning buyer the opportunity to own a diamond ring made to the individual's own design at no extra cost.
Because every ring made by Kennedy Blair is handcrafted there is no possibility that any two rings will be exactly alike, thereby creating a piece of jewellery that will give lasting pleasure and satisfaction. It is widely recognised that hand made jewellery is much superior to that which is mass produced.
Clients can choose from a range of diamonds which includes Round Brilliants, Princess Cut, Baguettes and Trilions. The mounts can be fashioned from 9 or 18 carat Yellow, Rose or White Gold or Platinum, which is the preferred medium used for setting.

Remaking Rings To Original Style
A handcrafted diamond ring should last the owner from fifteen to fifty years depending on the individuals activities but usually the diamonds or precious stones are still in perfect condition after that time. When a ring is showing advanced wear it is both practical and economical to have it remade either to the original style or maybe a modern design.
Kennedy Blair is familiar with styles dating from the fifties to the present day's uncluttered creations and he will quote on the price before any work is begun.
A guarantee of good workmanship and a free valuation is given with every new ring sold.

Jewellery Repairs
Jewellery repairs should only be undertaken by skilled craftsmen as any careless handling of valuable pieces can cause much loss in value.
Kennedy Blair has had many years of experience working with diamond jewellery and he takes much pride in restoring and repairing worn rings, pendants and brooches.
Many people neglect to have diamond rings checked for wear and tear and worn claws are the cause of most lost stones. Timely inspection by a competent tradesman can alert the wearer when it is time to retip worn claws and Kennedy Blair will only replace with Platinum unless otherwise requested by a client. Platinum claws should extend the life of a ring by many years.

Valuations
Kennedy Blair is a Registered Jewellery Valuer and he holds a certificate of competence from the Jewellery Appraisers Association of NZ.
All jewellery accepted for valuation is first of all inspected to ensure the safety of any precious stones. The piece is then cleaned before the appraisal is undertaken. A full description is given on duplicate copies and a digital photo of the item is printed on both copies.
A current valuation is an important document for besides the owner knowing the precise value of a posession, in the event of a loss most insurance companies will limit their liability to one thousand dollars on a household policy unless a recent valuation is on file. Unless a piece of jewellery is specifically documented it is difficult for most people to describe what they have lost.
All work is carried out on the premises and can be completed on the same day if required.
